As I mentioned in “Another look at who has contributed to Lynn Woolsey,” public sector unions figure prominently in her contributors database. Many people are not sure why public sector unions are different from private sector unions and why public sector unions receive enthusiastic backing from certain politicians — such as Rep. Woolsey — while other elected officials — such as Wisconsin’s Gov. Walker — want to curb their expansive, still expanding power.
