Candidates for office and citizens can make a pledge to support defunding of ObamaCare at Defundit.org. As the organization notes,
The Constitution gives Congress the power of the purse, the ability to appropriate or not appropriate money for authorized government activities. If a majority of representatives in either chamber of Congress has pledged to de-fund ObamaCare, then they have the power to simply refuse to fund it and effectively kill most of the law until it can be repealed and replaced completely.
This is what needs to be done. But, of course, Lynn Woolsey, who voted for ObamaCare, will not be one to make that commitment. She wants government to have control over your health care from cradle to grave. She wants bureaucrats to decide what treatments you can and cannot have. The public is just that crowd out there that rates a different, lower quality health care than the federal plan in which she is enrolled. At the health care town hall in August, 2009, she was questioned about whether she would be willing to surrender her “Cadillac” plan and join the regular folks who will be forced to participate in ObamaCare. She didn’t want to answer that, but she did finally. No, she said. She would not give up her superior plan. Lynn Woolsey won’t deny herself first-class health care, but she is happy to deny it to you and me.
Vote for someone who WILL make the commitment to you to support defunding of this disastrous mandate. Remember, career politicians like Lynn Woolsey think they are employees of the many-tentacled federal government. They think they owe allegiance to that rapidly-expanding government behemoth, not to you, their REAL employers. Lynn Woosley said she works for the federal government in that same town hall last year; she evidently believes she is our master, not our public servant. Vote for someone who knows they are accountable to you and me. Vote for someone who understands that true health care reform requires a different approach and that ObamaCare must be voided. Send someone to the House who will definitely vote to defund ObamaCare and then to repeal it.
