Dear Rep. Woolsey,
The new “security systems” being forced on travelers in U.S. airports must be changed. Yet, thus far you and your colleagues in Congress have been strangely docile and silent instead of proactively fashioning legeislation to actually implement a security system that works rather than continue a new system that doesn’t.
Why is that? Do you only object to certain violations of Americans’ rights and not others? You consider yourself a protector of children, yet you have not done anything to stop children from being abused by this new draconian and completely unnecessary system. You consider yourself a champion of women, yet you have done nothing and said nothing as far as I’m aware about the privacy/civil rights violations that are going on at the airports now. Just today there was a report of a flight attendant who was forced to remove her breast prosthetic (she was a breast cancer surivivor) by a TSA employee. This is absolute abuse and outright violation of the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. So, I repeat, where are you? Why aren’t you and your congressional colleagues moving to put a stop to this with legislation?
The alternatives to violating our rights (body scans/body searches) are simple:
